The criteria that waste must meet to be accepted at a particular type of landfill. There are different WAC for hazardous, non-hazardous, and inert landfills, setting limits on leachability and total content of contaminants. WAC testing determines which landfill type can accept a particular waste and is required in addition to basic characterisation.
