Waste arising from healthcare activities that poses a risk of infection or contains medicinal products, sharps, or human tissue. Clinical waste is covered by Chapter 18 of the List of Wastes. Infectious clinical waste (18 01 03*) is hazardous and requires segregation, specialist containers, and treatment at authorised facilities. Non-infectious clinical waste may be non-hazardous.
